Are your shoes worn or is a wheel cylinder leaking? Our Gillingham based garage in Medway can carry out brake inspection and replace all types of braking systems.
The brake wheel cylinder is a component in a drum brake system. It is located at the top of the wheel above the brake shoes. Its function is to exert force onto the shoes. It presses the shoe lining against the inside of the drum thus holding it firm by using the force of friction.
They are normally inexpensive and relatively easy to replace. As rear shoes become worn there is a chance of a build up of brake dust causing a squeal or squeak. It is the combination of brake dust and leaking wheel cylinder with brake fluid which can cause them to stick. Should a vehicle’s brakes begin sticking then they will require an initial inspection and will probably need to be replaced.
Why not contact us and we can carry out an inspection of your vehicle. Our workshop in Gillingham is in the centre of Medway and is fully equipped to deal with all makes of vehicles that are on the road today.
On many occasions when carrying out a brake inspection a partial strip down is necessary. This initial diagnosis becomes free due to the fact that your vehicle has been partially stripped down already.
