Brake Hoses

Has your vehicle’s brake hoses cracked or split?

Is the fluid leaking, low and needs to be changed or is the warning light on?

Come to Auto Experts Medway in Chatham near Gillingham in Medway.

How They Work:

A vehicle’s wheel is not hard-mounted to the car’s frame or chassis. It is instead mounted to a suspension component which allows that wheel to move in response to road irregularities and steering inputs. Because the wheel must be able to move, a length of flexible reinforced hose must be used between the end of the run of metal brake pipe and the brake at each wheel.

Brake hoses are a flexible hose consisting of a rubber inner hose wrapped in a textile reinforcement braid then covered in an additional rubber outer sheath.

A vehicle’s brake hose may over time begin to perish and can suffer from cracking or splitting and could eventually leak brake fluid. This may cause your brake warning light to illuminate due to low fluid level.
